Tim’s Crucible Ride / Saturday Supper Ride to Studio Diner
Meet: 2:00PM

Time warp yourself on a 1.7 mile ride to help Tim earn is Road Captain Aiguillette (RC Rope) from KMHD to Studio Diner for some good ole fashion comfort food in a 40’s movie themed diner. You're probably thinking to yourself while reading this: why would any Harley rider take the easy route to his destination? WE WOULDN’T! We are actually riding about 130 miles on some back country twisties, no freeway extravaganza. The route will lead us up through Ramona and instead of our normal stop at Dudley’s, we will be turning onto Hwy 78 and heading out to San Pasqual Valley Road with some amazing views below as we descend into the valley, we will then make our way up and over Lake Wohlford for some much needed scenic lake views and twisties, then a new one for me, a 2 mile drop into Pauma Valley on Cole Grade Road, we will have a comfort stop at the Mobil gas station on the corner of Hwy 76 and Old Hwy 395. From here we will head back to Kearny Mesa with some much needed twisties on West Lilac Road and cruise on by my favorite fresh water lake..Lake Hodges. Once we arrive at our final destination, we will have the outside patio all to ourselves to enjoy a nice evening with your HOG family.

Sunday, July 1st Meet Location Route Map
Patriot Flag Tour
Meet: 10:00AM

Once again San Diego Harley has been chosen to host the Nation of Patriots Tour on 06/30/18. The Flag will be escorted from Orange County by Orange County HOG to San Diego, where the flag will be on display all day on Saturday at SDHD-Morena.

San Diego HOG will again have the honor of escorting the Flag to Riverside on Sunday, 07/01/18.

Every year Nation of Patriots™ organizes a national effort that pays tribute to, and honors, all of America’s Armed Forces - Past, Present, and Fallen. This united effort is known as the Patriot Tour™.

The Patriot Tour™ traditionally begins during Memorial Day weekend. A massive group of riders escorts one American Flag on the back of a motorcycle to the first of many destinations. Upon arrival, the flag is transferred to the new escort. The next day the Flag is escorted to another designated location...and on and on for over 100 days, through all 48 continental states. The Flag finally makes it full circle and lands right back in WI where several thousand Americans gather to honor America's Military members and raise support for those wounded in their service. This is the Patriot Tour™.

If interested in taking part of Nation of Patriots™ tour and our (San Diego HOG) presentation of the Patriot Flag to Riverside HOG please join us on Sunday, 07/01/18, SDHD Morena @ 10:00, KSU 10:30.

Oh, and by the way… it will not be a direct route… Ortega Hwy will definitely be in the mix.

Curley Que Two
Meet: 7:30AM

And now something completely different…

If you are prone to vertigo, this is not a ride that you’ll want to be on.

Have you ever taken a left turn that took you on a 2,880 degree left leaning journey without passing the same point twice? On this ride you will. Matter of fact, on this ride we will be going places that are rarely seen on our HOG rides simply due to the complexity of riding downtown. This is the reason for the early start time. Be at the ride meet at 7:30, KSU at 8:00 promptly. Along the way I will take you through both North and South Embarcadero, into the skyline of San Diego for a photo op, through Balboa Park, and then way out East on Lyons Valley, comfort stop at Pio Pico, before heading to Harley Demo Days for a free lunch… and maybe score a Demo ride or two.

Saturday Supper Ride to Descanso!
Meet: 2:00PM

This is a ride very similar to the Let’s Get Twisted ride in April just because I love Rice and Courser Canyons. But WAIT! There’s more fun through Mesa Grande and Wynola too. If you love twisties like me, I can promise you this will be a FUN ride.

132 Miles.

Brad's Brunch Ride
Meet: 9:00AM

Come out and ride to Cafe 67 in Lakeside, and join me for brunch! We’ll start out with a short freeway blast to the coast, head north up the coast to Del Mar. Then head east around Lake Hodges before we go by the Zoo’s Wild Animal Park.

Then we’ll beat the heat and climb up HWY 78 through Ramona, and down Wildcat Canyon, just when it starts to heat-up, we’ll stop at Cafe 67 to enjoy some fine food! This will only be about a 70mi. two hour ride, so we can try to beat the heat.

This route will include some “twisties”, and is a good route for all to enjoy, short, fun, and hopefully, not to hot! Hope to see you at Kearny H.D. with a full tank, ready to rock!

Sunday, August 12th Meet Location Route Map
Back Road Byway
Meet: 9:00AM

Come along and catch some zen moments on this epic tour of some of the lesser traveled back country roads in the Julian area. We'll see some of our favorite twisties, we'll see tree covered roads and a lake. We'll also experience slow tight turns through the pine covered foothills. The last time I went through this area, I saw 5 deer, a wild turkey (other than JR), and a possum. Our destination offers a virtual potpourri of Asian cuisine in the form of an all you can eat buffet.

Thursday, September 20th to 23rd, 2018 Meet Location Route Map
LONG DISTANCE RIDE: Sequoia National Park
Meet: 8:00AM

Have you ever wondered what is on the other side of those big mountains when we travel up the 395 through Lone Pine on our Death Valley trips? Well come join me to find out.

On this four day Long Distance Ride we will be leaving on September 20th and returning September 23rd, 2018

We will be staying at the Best Western in Porterville (1-559-781-7411) or Click here for the Best Western Website near the park. We have a total of 20 rooms reserved but they need confirmations by December 1. Room rates are: $99.00 for a single and $99.00 for a double. When making reservations use the code SDHOG.

Day 1 - Travel to Porterville 15N to 395N to 14N to 178NW to 155 to 65 into Porterville on this route we will pass Lake Isabella which should be absolutely beautiful that time of year.

Day 2 - We enter the park and visit the west side of the park. Lots of awesome twisty roads and huge trees. We will see the General Grant, a Sequoia, and lots of other really big Redwoods then onto the General Sherman. The General Sherman is a 2,100 year old giant Sequoia that is 275 feet tall, and weighs in at 2.7 million pounds with a trunk diameter of 100 feet. If you have never seen these before, and even if you have, you will no doubt be in awe.

Day 3 - We visit the east side of the park, Kings Canyon. Again, there are a lot of twisty roads. We're talking a lot of twisty roads. I mean so twisty you might be begging for a straight stretch. We will pass over and around the river that flows through the park and have lunch at the lodge. Day three is a good riding day to run some roads you might not have done, or if you have, you will love doing again.

Day 4 - Homeward bound.

The trip is for riders who can do the long distance and twisty roads. I'm not joking about the twisty part.

Meet: 9:00AM

Sorry JR for stealing your signature phrase, but there is no better way to describe this ride. Join me on an absolutely enjoyable ride. We will ride through Ramona to a comfort stop at Santa Ysabel. Then on to the 79 to Hemet enjoying Wilson Valley and Sage Roads with lots of scenic twisties thrown in for fun. We will eat at The City of Hemet's Sweet Baby Jane's BBQ which I believe you will find enjoyable. For those of you that just can't seem to get enough wind therapy, like me, I will be leading another scenic ride back via the 74. The scenery on this return ride is simply amazing. If you choose to follow me back to Santa Ysabel via this route, I ask that you refrain from drinking any alcoholic beverages at all. If you do not wish to join us on the return trip you may of course do a freeway blast back home. This is an all day ride, but I promise you will have a blast.
