I recently had the good fortune of being sent to the Paris Air Show for work
related
activities.Yeah,
I know, it sucks to be me. Anyway,
I managed to get out with my camera every evening and walk the streets of Paris,
the
city
of
light, The sun sets at almost 10 pm this time of year. I shot pictures all
day long of everything. But what kept catching my eye and what amazed me most
was
the sheer number of motorcycles and scooters that were everywhere. Scooters almost
completely enclosed in rain cages, scooters with two wheels in the front. Scooters
that would sell like hotcakes to urban professionals in cities like New York,
Boston and San Francisco if they were able to import them. Let
me
tell you, to ride a scooter or motorcycle in the streets of paris takes some
nerves
of steel. These mad Parisians take lane splitting to a higher plane. I took almost
400 photos while there and wouldn't dream of boring you with all of the artsy
fartsy
shots that I took of buildings, bridges and places older than the United States,
But I thought I'd share this little handful of photos that relate to our genre
and breed, Although I doubt too many women on Harleys would wear boots like this
gal here, or that any of you guys would ride around in a fashionable wool suit
like this chap on this Harley. I didn't see to many of them but when heard one
coming or saw one parked on the street I got that pang that any of you would
have felt too. Most of the photos that I took look like the one of the gargoyles
there on the back side of Notre Dame. But like I said, I ain't gonna bore you
with those. Just let me close with this, as much fun as it may be to travel,
I
always
miss
the
land
of
the
free.
