Rides
  • When are the rides?
Generally, we have a breakfast or lunch ride every Sunday, but we also have dinner rides during the week. We also have special event rides for holidays and charities. Please see our ride schedule for upcoming rides.

  • Where do you ride?
Most Sunday rides stay within San Diego County, but we also have overnight rides that may be out of state. Local rides can be as short as 50 miles or up to 200 miles long.

  • How do I join a ride?
Most rides leave from the San Diego Harley-Davidson, Kearny Mesa location. Always check the website for changes in ride dates and times. We also send an email Blast to all chapter members each Wednesday with updated ride and event information. Most rides meet at 9:00am, with kickstands up at 9:45.

  • May I bring a friend on a HOG ride?
Yes. Each chapter member can bring one guest. All guests, whether riders or passengers, must sign a liability waiver to participate in Chapter rides or events.

  • My friend rides a Honda. Can they come on a ride?
Yes. Chapter members must own a Harley-Davidson, but guests are welcome no matter what they ride.

  • What is the difference in an Open and Closed ride?
Closed rides are for Chapter members and their guests only. Open rides are open to the general public.

  • Are all overnight rides for adults only?
Yes. Unless otherwise specified, overnight rides are for adults only. Family oriented overnighters will be specified as such. Please see the particular ride details for specifics.

  • What is a Road Captain?
Road Captains are volunteers that have ridden with the chapter for at least a year and are trained to plan and lead rides for the Chapter.

    Some of their duties include:
Provide for the safety and welfare of all individuals within the group, and any surrounding motorists or pedestrians.
Lead the group to its destination in a well-organized, disciplined, and safe manner.
    Avoid creating hazardous situations.
Be knowledgeable of the state laws and safe riding guidelines.

  • How can I become a Road Captain?
Please contact the Head Road Captain and express your desire to become a Road Captain. He/she will go over the current requirements.

Ladies of Harley
  • What is Ladies of Harley?
We are a group of women riders and passengers who get together and do various activities that we like to do, in addition to weekend breakfast rides. We like spending time together and having fun. Some examples of activities that Ladies of Harley (LOH) recently hosted are a progressive brunch that went to three different members' houses, a Mary Kay make-over party with one of our HOG members who raised over $400 for LOH, and a "Bling Your Things" party where the women paid $20 and brought shirts, patches, helmets, etc. and were able to use TONS of iron on "bling" designs or individual crystals, creating customized shirts that would have cost a fortune at the Harley dealership. LOH also hosts bonfires at the beach where families can get together to BBQ and make s'mores, and we have bake sales to raise money for charities. Each HOG chapter's LOH is "customized" for lack of a better term to the needs and desires of the females in it. Some chapters make quilts and sell them for fund-raisers. Some only do bake sales and not much else. We're all about having fun AND riding, so that's our focus.

Patches and Pins
  • Where can I purchase patches and pins?
San Diego HOG patches, rockers and pins may be purchased at our General meeting (4th Friday of the month) and at the dealer BBQ on Saturday. We also have an assortment of shirts and hats.
